Mizuno MX-950 Iron Set user reviews
Mizuno MX-950 iron set. 8/15/2009
Handicap 20-30
I've been playing these irons for a month now. They don't offer a slight difference, it's unreal how great these clubs are. I'm by no means a good golfer shooting right under 100 most days, however I can see that number will be dropping very shortly. These irons are giving me good consistant distance on mis-hits. They address very well, and offer me lots of confidence which is important to a guy like me. They Hybrid 3 & 4 hit like a dream from the tee box or the rough. My distance has increased pretty good,

I just saw your response to another inquiry. Has Mizuno replaced the MX-950 with another set? What is most like the 950?

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Mizuno MX-950 hybrid iron set. This set is still a current model through Mizuno and there is no replacement that I am aware of in the Mizuno line of products to this date.

Mizuno will be releasing the MX1000, a replacement to the MX950, in September 2009 as a part of their new 2010 irons lineup.

I hit the MX-950's and they felt great. I am 6'4" and have a 37" wrist to floor (in my bare feet) Can you order MX-950 in custom lengths? What would you recommend?

From what I've read you'd want probably about +3 degree upright lie and maybe a +1/4" length. I am exactly the same height and wtf as you.

I keep reading about length of shaft, measuring wrist to floor, I am short, so what does this measurement tell me and how do I apply it to shaft length

Thank you for your question in regard to shaft lengths. The measurement from wrist to floor will determine which length you will need your shaft set at. Typically, shorter golfer will need their irons/woods cut down in order to maximize proper impact. Please determine the length of your arm from wrist to floor from a standing upright position with your arms at your side and I can determine the optimal length for you.

Also your wrist to floor measurement will determine what lie angle you need. I'm 5'3" and I needed my clubs flattened 3 degrees from standard! Look into it!
