Callaway Golf FT-5 Driver

Product Description

The FT-5 Driver from Callaway Golf utilizes the manufacturer’s innovative Fusion Technology to create a revolutionized clubhead design. This technology makes use of a lightweight carbon fiber body allowing the unique and strategic positioning of 50 grams of discretionary weight for a high Moment of Inertia (MOI), and precise location of the center of gravity. The result of this engineering input is unmatched stability on off-center hits and ball flight customization necessary for optimal player performance. A 25-gram weight positioned on the rear of the driver lowers the center of gravity for the golfer to choose the Draw and Neutral configurations. In short, the Callaway Golf FT-5 Driver positions weight in the right places to result in a potent combination of distance and accuracy.

  • Lightweight carbon composite body
  • Larger and stronger Callaway patented CT/VFT technology Titanium cup face for increased ball speed and distance
  • Lighter areas of face cup ring louder to create a crisp, powerful sound when the ball is hit
  • OptiFit Weighing System lowers the Center of Gravity allowing a choice between Draw and Neutral loft configurations
  • Longer and wider face with a 460cc head volume results in higher ball speed necessary for longer, straighter drives

Callaway Golf FT-5 Driver user reviews
Great Club 9/13/2008
Handicap 10 - 15
FT-5,9.5 degree,Stiff, neutral bias. Do not hit it much longer than my 460 Cleveland Launcher but far more consistent Can work it both ways on command.A steep down swing will result in short pop-ups. Mis-hits sound different but result still pretty good. I would recommend to any reasonable proficient player.

In the past i have purchased several drivers off the rack. And seem to have the same probelms. I finally went for a fitting. After Hitting four or five different brand names. The callway FT-5 driver has given me confidence off any tee box.

Hello, I understand most drivers come in a 10.5 and 9.5 degree loft. I use a 10.5. When teeing off, my ball usually has a lot of loft and goes really high in the air, should I switch to a 9.5 degree

Thank you for your question. Is it worth testing out? Absolutely. Will the 9.5 give you a more penetrating ball flight is the question. Most golfers would kill to have more hang time but I know how you feel. I was in the same boat at one time and tested different lofts much like you. I ended up staying with the higher loft though. I would test it prior to officially making a move. Play Well, Johnny

Thank you for your question. You would fall in the 'Regular' flex category based upon your swing speed. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you, Johnny

I have used the YS-6 shaft in the 905T and the FT-i with pretty good success. Can you name me a couple other shafts that you think would give me the same "feel" and control? Thanks.

Thank you for your inquiry. There are a few other brands that have similar weight and launch profiles of the Graphite Design YS series. You should notice that the Aldila NVS 65, the Graphalloy ProLaunch 65, the UST V2 67, and the Fujikura E360 are all very comparable.
