Simply stated, the new Wilson Staff Di7 irons are not like
other clubs. A lower profile moves the center of gravity
down for higher ball flight. A wider sole moves the CG
back for greater stability and straighter ball flight. A wider
tip shaft prevents twisting on off-center hits. If you want to
hit it longer and straighter, play Wilson Staff Di7 irons. We're talking "club longer", not 1-2 yards.
As a high handicapper, I tried lots of clubs that touted forgiveness and feel. After extensive testing, I went with the Wilson di7s with the TrueTemper steel shafts. My scores immediately dropped because off-center hits went straight, and on center hits went further. As someone with a low trajectory shot, the Wilson di7s really help get the ball in the air. The wide sole prevents (or minimizes) chili dipping. And - you can't beat the price.
Wilson should advertise these clubs more.

I am using the graphite-shafted set of irons
and by far it is the best set of irons I've ever used. If you having trouble getting your irons in the air, you will not have that problem with this set. The set is designed with a low center of gravity in the heads and you can really feel the weight. The fat shaft really helps with your accuracy. This set really should be demo'ed to see the performance.

I noticed the hosel on the wilson Di7 irons is much shorter than most other irons, how does this affect the iron and will it play differently than irons with a longer hosel?

Jimmy, the hosel has no performance effects to it. The only thing it does is house the shaft. The reason some clubs have longer hosels is strictly for cosmetic purposes.
I currently have a set of the Wilson Deep Red irons, and love them. However, they are 2 degrees flat and get a HUGE toe divot. Can these clubs be bent to correct them. If so, where? Thanks

Greg, if you need the clubs bent upright a little my best advice would be to take it to a custom club builder local to where you are located. Wilson does have a custom club department but you may be without your set for several weeks if you were to send them to the factory. For Wilson warrant/repair info you may contact 773-714-6400 for more information.
What exactly does uniflex shaft mean? I currently use Wilson Deep Red regular flex steel, but feel these clubs would be an upgrade. Thanks!

Thank you for your question.
Uniflex is a flex that in between and regular and stiff. It's only offered in that one flex so that the guess work is taken out of whether you're a regular or stiff flex. The Di7 would be a massive improvement from the Deep Red Irons.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I keep reading about length of shaft, measuring wrist to floor, I am short, so what does this measurement tell me and how do I apply it to shaft length

Thank you for your question in regard to shaft lengths. The measurement from wrist to floor will determine which length you will need your shaft set at. Typically, shorter golfer will need their irons/woods cut down in order to maximize proper impact. Please determine the length of your arm from wrist to floor from a standing upright position with your arms at your side and I can determine the optimal length for you.

Also your wrist to floor measurement will determine what lie angle you need. I'm 5'3" and I needed my clubs flattened 3 degrees from standard! Look into it!
I am a average golfer looking for new clubs...current set had extra inch added to shaft length, but not sure I needed it. I am 6'2"...would a custom club fitting be recommended or would std shaf

Thank you for your inquiry. Typically guys your height will need added length to the shaft with an upright lie angle. Your arm length from wrist to floor will give a better idea as to how much additional length is needed. The majority of golfers in your height range would benefit from a 1/2" extended shaft and a 2 degree upright lie angle. The custom iron set will definately improve your ball striking ability and your consistency in your iron play. Please give us a call if you have further quest

I have old clubs looking to buy new how do I tell if my clubs are to long or short.
Thank you for your question.
The grip on the Di7 is there own Wilson Staff proprietary grip. There are no markings on it that might suggest if Winn or Golf Pride produced it.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Johnny
