Taylor Made rac Satin Tour Wedges

Product Description

TaylorMade has made a science of wedge design and the result is our innovative rac Technology. rac, characterized by the two distinctive "Feel Pockets" in the back of the clubhead, channels impact energy away from the impact area and provides a means for measuring and tuning feel. Those two things combined have allowed TaylorMade to enhance the kind of solid, positive feel at impact that golfers desire. TaylorMade engineers realized that ill-conceived and/or poorly produced clubface grooves contribute to these inconsistencies in backspin and distance control, and devised an improved, individually milled groove - the new TaylorMade Dual-Draft Groove - whose shape, width, depth, edging and spacing together succeeds in delivering a high degree of backspin with dramatic consistency. The result? TaylorMade's new rac Wedges reduce the distance inconsistencies common in leading wedges,so you'll find your target far more frequenty instead of falling short or flying long. rac Satin Wedges are an unplated 304 stainless steel version of rac Wedges designed to have less glare compared to chrome or polished finishes. The rac Satin Wedges have unplated, individually milled dual-draft grooves to deliver increased spin for improved consistency and control. TaylorMade added the satin finish as a direct response to our tour staff players expressively asking for rac Wedges with reduced glare and more spin.

Craig, the lofts needed to fill your gaps will differ according to the loft of your irons. A stronger set of irons will need stronger wedges. For example: if your PW is 45 degree you will want your gap wedge near 50 degree with a sand at 54 and the lob at 58. You will always want your gap and lob wedges to have lower bounce while your sand wedge has higher bounce. The lower bounce is better for "harder" surfaces ie compact sand while the higher bounce is great for "softer" lies ie fluffy white s

My PW (Callaway X20) is 45 degrees, which makes it a 10 Iron in my opinion, not a wedge. Some sets (e.g. popular Wilson Di7) have a 43 degrees PW! I debated a 50 or 52 degree Approach and am very glad I went with 50. 56 for Sand and 60 for Lob. Longer hitting pros might go 52/58/62. Mickelson carries 60 and 64! I can do just about anything inside 60 yds with my 60.04 - very happy I went with the low bounce Lob rather than an even flatter loft.

Thank you for your question. The standard loft on a sand wedge is either 55 or 56 Degree. It varies between those two lofts depending on the brand you prefer. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks, Johnny
