Taylor Made r7 quad Driver - 10.5º Regular - RH user reviews
Look elsewhere 8/4/2005
Handicap 0 - 5
I agree with the guy below me, the club though very technologically advanced but the results are not so impressive. The weights dont cure a swing, and the club head is not as hot as other clubs. But give it a try and see for yourself

How Much !?!?! 7/19/2005
Handicap 0 - 5
This driver is the most over rated driver of all time. The weight system is nice but it is illegal to change the weights during the round. The weights don't garantee the predicted so don't think if you but this club you will instantly be able to hit a draw. maybe if the driver was $300 it would be a good deal but you should save your money and buy some lessons.

Taylor Made R7 - It Does What It Says 5/14/2005
Handicap 6 - 10
I went from an average of 275 - 280 yard drives with a Titleist 975 to an average of approximately 295 - 305 yards with the R7. The key to hitting the club is a somewhat slower swing with a consistent tempo. I would advise to experiment with the weights to find your desired shot shape and then leave the weights in that position. I would not alter the weights based on daily playing conditions; since this tends to cause you some uncertianty over the ball.

Good Technology for Consistent Swingers. 4/9/2005
Handicap 10 - 15
The R7 is also a very good club. It will not help correct major swing faults however. You must have a relatively consistent swing to get the most out of it. The beauty of this club is that the moveable weights basically take the place of using lead tape to adjust the club. There are a lot of great drivers out there. Try hitting them all before deciding.

I have no review of the r7 quad Driver other tan what I have read 9/28/2004

The only review I have had on this Driver is what I have read about it.

Hello, I understand most drivers come in a 10.5 and 9.5 degree loft. I use a 10.5. When teeing off, my ball usually has a lot of loft and goes really high in the air, should I switch to a 9.5 degree

Thank you for your question. Is it worth testing out? Absolutely. Will the 9.5 give you a more penetrating ball flight is the question. Most golfers would kill to have more hang time but I know how you feel. I was in the same boat at one time and tested different lofts much like you. I ended up staying with the higher loft though. I would test it prior to officially making a move. Play Well, Johnny

In general, the 9.5 degree will tend to give a lower ball flight. However, the shaft also contributes to launch angle. Find a Golf shop that has a simulator that can measure your swing path, launch angle, club-head speed, ball speed, spin and distance. With this information, your Pro can tell you if you need a different club, or just a new shaft.

I have used the YS-6 shaft in the 905T and the FT-i with pretty good success. Can you name me a couple other shafts that you think would give me the same "feel" and control? Thanks.

Thank you for your inquiry. There are a few other brands that have similar weight and launch profiles of the Graphite Design YS series. You should notice that the Aldila NVS 65, the Graphalloy ProLaunch 65, the UST V2 67, and the Fujikura E360 are all very comparable.
