Product Description

Callaway Golf Tour i - The Callaway Golf Tour i is a name brand ball in a class all by itself. Using an innovative 4 piece construction, the Tour i has a tungsten-infused outer core that helps reduce driver spin for longer distance and straighter shots while the softer urethane cover generates more short-game spin for greater precision control. The Callaway Golf Tour i is the perfect ball for players seeking high performance off the tee and around the green.

  • 4-piece dual core construction provides maximum feel while allowing for high ball speeds and premium distance
  • Tungsten-infused outer core redistributes weight away from the center of the ball to reduce driver spin
  • High-density mantle layer also reduces spin and produces high ball speeds to maximize distance
  • Softer urethane cover generates unmatched feel with increased short-game spin for precision shot-making
  • Refined HEX Aerodynamics reduces drag even further for longer and more stable ball flight

Callaway Tour - i ( not ix ) 4/4/2009
Handicap 6 - 10
Best golf ball since the ProV 1. This ball is easily 20 yard farther then any ball I have hit. Soft to the feel putting. Great spin on approach. I can't say enough good things about it. Super Ball....
Jhawker (Apache Junction, AZ)
Great Ball 1/8/2009
Handicap 10 - 15
I have tried many balls in the last year and nothing stands up to this ball. It is a great ball around the green almost too good I can stop a ProV1 but back up a Tour i my playing buddies love it. The price is a big hurdle though. If you like your ball to stop and back up on a green these are the ones.

Great ball for tournament gift 10/28/2008
Handicap 6 - 10
I read the reviews about this logo golf ball and decided to use it as an item for the ditty bags we put together for our tournament. At the end of the day many of the players were really impressed with the ball's performance and we were happy with how great our logo looked on the balls.

Well done Callaway 8/4/2008
Handicap 10 - 15
This ball must be experienced to appreciate. I decided to bit the bullet and pay the price for one dozen just to try them out. Couldn't be happier. Long, and very accurate. Every thing I chip or pitch to the green stays. Even long 3s that hit the green stay. They scuff a little after 18 holes, but who cares. I played the first one for 27 holes before losing it in high grass on the fairway. It was just as good as when I started. Straight, long, and sticky.............
Doc (Ponchatoula, LA)
Way better than iX for spin and touch 7/20/2008
Handicap 6 - 10
Was not sure about new callaway ball after trying the tour iX, the new tour i has been a reassurance to say the least, great distance, great spin from fairway and even better feel around greens, checks nice and holds its line well in wind, if your looking for a new tour caliber ball to replace those pro v 1 this is it!!!!!!!!!!!!

from rading your q and a series it seem rather clear that you favor the i ball over the ix is that a fair synopsis of your series.

Its not a favoring necessarily, but the Tour i balls appeals to a broader spectrum of golfers as it is easier to hit. The Tour ix requires greater clubhead speed to compress the ball and generate the spin needed to make the ball perform to its design.

My club head speed is low, between 70 - 80. Which Callaway ball should i be using? i or ix

Hi, thanks for the question. The Tour I has a lower compression, but still may be too high for that swing speed. You may want to try the HX hot plus, or the Big Bertha Diablo. If you are not set on Callaway, you can try the Srixon Z-star. It has a lower compression and offers higher levels of playability. -Parker

The talk is about club head speed; high, moderate and low. Just where does one go to determine club head speed and does this only apply to drivers?
A
05/21/2009 3:21 PMGolfballs.com Employee: Andy
Thank you for your inquiry. Club head speed is mainly mentioned when speaking of driving the golf ball. High club head speeds are 100 MHP+, moderate 85-99, and low would be considered below 85 MPH. Head speed will always be considered when determining shaft flex and usually ball selection. It is always great to be aware of your club head speed.
